Excalibur Crossbow

Excalibur CrossbowBowhunting is bowhunting, hands down no questions asked. Most cases you only get one opportunity at a deer with a bow and that's why I use an Excalibur. Bowhunting has three main words, Fast, Accurate and Reliable. In my opinion these three words exactly describe an Excalibur Crossbow. I have to credit my Exo-Max with helping me get the job done and to leading me attaching more tags on animals.

Firearms

Tikka

Tikka T3I don't know what it is about me and whitetails, but somehow for me it always comes down to the last day and hour of the hunt, when my deer shows up. One thing I never think about when I get that deer in my scope is "if my gun can make the shot". My Tikka has pulled through on every situation and opportunity. Shooting a Tikka has definitely helped me fill tags, cause this gun can shoot.

Benelli

BenelliI am ever so to proud to be associated with Benelli shotguns. Every hunter knows that a shotgun is more than a gun, its a tool and an important one at that. I've hunted waterfowl for over 10 years now, but I have to say this year filming "TCT" I did more waterfowling than ever before. I took my Benelli into places and put it through conditions that others cringed at, but one thing remained the same, it always fired a shell every time I squeezed the trigger. As weird as this might sound, if I could marry a gun, I think I would marry my Super Black Eagle II.

Clothing

Irish Setter

Irish SetterI don't know about you, but for me keeping my feet warm and dry are very important. That's why the only boot I put my feet into are Irish Setter. These boots are designed by hunters, for hunters. I trust my feet to get me into that right situation on every hunt and it is very surprising to find out that you will get into more situations more often if your not wasting time back at camp changing boots or having your feet in pain. I trust my Irish Setter's just like I trust my bird dog.

Optics

Bushnell

BushnellIf you have heard your hunting buddies say "it fogged up, couldn't see through it, didn't gather enough light, it was blurry" then chances are they are not using Bushnell Optics. My hunting success has gone through the roof since I have had Bushnell's hanging around my neck or sitting on top of my rifle. My optics have traveled on plain, trains and automobiles across Canada and have never let me down. I wouldn't go in the woods without them, to me they are as important as my gun or bow.

Outdoor Tech

SureFire

SureFireSince I started using SureFire Flashlights, I don't panic anymore when the sun starts to go down and I need to find my way out of the woods. I tell the guys I hunt with, that having a SureFire flash light in your pocket is like having a portable sun. No matter where I go, if I need to find something or light things up, I've got the tool to do it with.

Calls and Attractants

Buck Expert

Buck ExpertWhether I "quack it", "cut it", "hammer it" or "lay on it", I do it all with the Buck Expert line of game calls. Using these line of game calls has lead to some amazing days in the field for me and the "TCT" crew. Few things top the experience when you can correctly call in an animal, whether that be big game, turkey or waterfowl.

Treestands and Blinds

Final Approach

Final ApproachI like to think of the F/A brands like a tool. If I was a carpenter, I wouldn't go to work with out my hammer. As a hunter and hunting for a living, I sure don't head into the field without having the right decoys and blinds. These decoys and blinds have some pretty nice features, like paint schemes and comforts, but when the time comes you can get them down right dirty or muddy and they will still preform. I wouldn't hit the field without them.

Vehicles

G3 Boats

G3 BoatsWhen opening day of ducking comes and your out in the water sitting in a duck boat trying to sort out decoys, you will be impressed at the roominess and stability of a G3 Boat. Some of the best times I've had this fall was getting out duck hunting with 2 or 3 of my close friends. Lots of room in the boat to accommodate your hunting buddies and your trusty dog. Oh!, by the way the 4-stroke Yamaha Outdoor is whisper quiet, I have caught myself a couple of times putting my ear close to it to see if I could hear it running!

Yamaha

YamahaI can totally depend on my Yamaha ATV or Rhino where ever I go. I've actually changed my vocabulary because I used the term "lets rhino it" this fall. These Yamaha Rhino's are an absolute multi-purpose machine. With having my cameraman "Dougie Volpel" at my side on every hunting trip, we thoroughly enjoy throwing all of our gear in the back, and riding comfortably up front.

Dodge Ram

Dodge RamI've always had the philosophy if you can't dodge it Ram it. Right now my "TCT" truck is a Dodge Ram 1500. Its got the fuel efficient and powerful 5.7 Hemi engine in it. In my own country-boy term, I've got to say that whether highway driving or towing a trailer across Canada that this Hemi engine "doesn't even smell a hill."

Misc.

John Deere

Like they say "Nothing runs like a Deere". Well, I will gladly stand behind that statement after having one. I can not think of a better tool to have. The good lord gave man a thumb as a tool, well man invented a John Deere tractor as his tool!. After having one and using it around the farm, I think it would be next to impossible to give it up. No matter what needs you have, I'll put my bottom dollar on it that says there is a John Deere Green machine out there for you that will meet your needs.

Bio Logic

Bio LogicI started planting Bio Logic this past year. I'm absolutely impressed at the results. I saw more deer while hunting more often, but most importantly I'm holding more deer on my hunting property then ever before. Not to mention, I've got a freezer full of some great tasting venison to get me through this winter. I have to say that if your not planting Bio Logic, then you better hope your neighbour is not!
