If you have ever shot one, or have a friend that shoots one, simply ask them what they think of it, soon after you will find out that anyone who has experienced an Excalibur Crossbow will put their name behind it. It’s quite simple, Excalibur is the Maytag of hunting crossbows, plus it’s built in Canada as an added bonus!. Regardless of any bowhunting, whether that be compound bows or crossbows, one thing still remains the same, that is you have to be close, and it’s only a one shot deal! Bottom-line!. When I spend my money on a hunting rifle, I base my decision on three things, Performance, Accuracy and Price. No ifs, ands, or buts about it, Tikka T3′s are on top of the list (period). I have stood witness to other guns misfiring, mis-chambering or jamming when the moment of truth occurs. Thats one thing I never want to personally experience, as with being a hunter everyone knows how important it is to capitalize on an opportunity, as in most cases they are few and far between in mother natures book. I ensure I will not experience this problem by packing a Tikka T3 on all my rifle hunts!

Benelli

Over the last few years I have learned that there are two things that are going to hate you for getting a Benelli Shotgun. One is the ducks and geese, because every time that trigger goes click!, a round goes off, and the other is your hunting buddies, because they know too, that every time your trigger goes click!, that a round goes off, and if they don’t shoot Benelli, then quite simply they can not say the same about their gun! I have always loved waterfowl hunting as a kid, but never did I imagine I would be doing so much of it, until I joined up with Ducks Unlimited Canada. Since that time, I have experience more unique waterfowling conditions than I ever thought possible. From swamps, dust, mud, ice, snow, salt water, rain and gunk! I have put my Benelli through the worst conditions, and it has never let me down. As the say’n goes Boom, Boom, Boom…everytime I pull the trigger!!!

I spend over 200 days in the field pursuing my dream, and can honestly say one thing that helps me make my dream a reality is having the U/A Brand on my back. When spending that much time out in mother natures playground, you can bet that your going to go through hot, wet, dry, cold and windy conditions, however with one thing in common, (that is if you are outfitted in U/A apparel), you will be comfortable and dry. For years I thought my eyes were good enough to get me by. Boy!, I was wrong. Never have I seen more game, or got myself into more shooting opportunities then I have when relying on good optics. A deterrence to some first timers is they purchase a set of bino’s, or a scope that does not do much for them, or fogs easily making a less than ideal situation. When I had the opportunity to work with Bushnell, the decision was a no brainer!. One of the absolute best companies that understands outdoorsmen’s needs, and incorporates that into their products is Bushnell. Since I started using SureFire
Flashlights, I don’t panic
anymore when the sun starts to go down and I need to find my way out of the woods. I tell the guys I hunt with, that having a SureFire flash light in your pocket is like having a portable sun. No matter where I go, if I need to find something or light things up, I’ve got the tool to do it with.

Final Approach

I like to think of the F/A brands like a tool. If I was a
carpenter, I wouldn’t go to work with out my
hammer. As a hunter and hunting for a living, I sure
don’t head into the field without having the right decoys and blinds. These decoys and blinds have some pretty nice features, like paint schemes and comforts, but when the time comes you can get them down right dirty or muddy and they will still preform. I wouldn’t hit the field without them.

G3 Boats

When opening day of ducking
comes and your out in the water
sitting in a duck boat trying to sort
out decoys, you will be impressed at the roominess and stability of a G3 Boat. Some of the best times I’ve had this fall was getting out duck hunting with 2 or 3 of my close friends. Lots of room in the boat to accommodate your hunting buddies and your trusty dog. Oh!, by the way the 4-stroke Yamaha Outdoor is whisper quiet, I have caught myself a couple of times putting my ear close to it to see if I could hear it running!

Yamaha

When I head out on the road for a hunt of a life time, you can be sure that there is only two things I trust to tow behind my truck. That’s either my Yamaha ATV or my G3 Boat. Too many times I have sat in hunt camps across Carnada, and have witness other outdoorsman bragging about their ATV’s only to find out, that when the time counts that their ATV lets them down, or boat motor won’t start. To me, and the “TCT” crew, having our Yamaha’s with us, is added insurance!

Dodge Ram

With making my living by being on the road over 30 weeks a year, and spending as much time behind the wheel as I do in a treestand, makes the truck I drive a very important part of my outdoor gear. Combine awesome 4×4 capabilities, with a spacious and comfortable interior, and add to that a HEMI engine, and you have a winner in my books. I have trusted RAM Trucks for the last 8 years, have logged over 600,000km’s and never has my trucks seen the garage except for oil changes and routine maintenance. Now thats piece of mind!!!

John Deere

Like they say “Nothing runs
like a Deere”. Well, I will gladly
stand behind that statement after having one. I can not think of a better tool to have. The good lord gave man a thumb as a tool, well man invented a John Deere tractor as his tool!. After having one and using it around the farm, I think it would be next to impossible to give it up. No matter what needs you have, I’ll put my bottom dollar on it that says there is a John Deere Green machine out there for you that will meet your needs.

Bio Logic

I started planting Bio Logic this past year.
I’m absolutely impressed at the results. I
saw more deer while hunting more often,
but most importantly I’m holding more deer
on my hunting property then ever before. Not to mention, I’ve got a freezer full of some great tasting venison to get me through this winter. I have to say that if your not planting Bio Logic, then you better hope your neighbour is not!

For years Canada has been left in the dark when it came to big outdoor retailers, that is until now!. Ducks Unlimited Canada

Here is one organization that my heart goes out too, and one organization that I owe my passion of hunting to, Ducks Unlimited Canada. Before I even watched my dad take a deer infront of me at the age of 7, I was a few years before that watching bluebills and mallards work into his decoy spread while we sat in our cedar covered duck blind. This is what hooked me, from those early years enjoying time with my father, it was not only a way for us to connect, but a way for me to connect with nature, and learn to appreciate it, conserve it and manage it for years to come. Ducks Unlimited Canada, embodies this entirely, from its strong conservation message, to its management practises, all the way to its Green Wing Youth programs, DUC is a forefront leader in realizing that we must look after our waterfowl now, so our future youths can enjoy it with their children for years to come. I strongly encourage any outdoors persons to join DUC, as we are making Canada’s waterfowl a better place.
